A. Elahi, M.D.

Dr. Ali ElahiDr. A. Elahi began his study of Neuroscience at UCLA and University of Pittsburgh. In 1996, he attended University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. Dr. Elahi's interests in Neurology led to his residency training at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In Iowa, Dr. Elahi trained with world-renown neurologists including Dr. Harold P. Adams, Jr. and Dr. Jun Kimura.

Dr. Elahi has developed a special interest in stroke and neuromuscular disorders and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

 

Jane L. Mahakian, Ph.D.

Dr. MahakianFormer Director of Elder Care Programs at the University of California San Francisco for nearly a decade, Dr. Mahakian is President of Aging Matters, a geriatric care management company in Orange County and San Francisco that specializes in working with older adults with a dementia and their families. Dr. Mahakian has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since its inception in 1998, Dr. Mahakian conducts evaluations, provides solution based counseling and behavioral interventions for people with cognitive impairment. She also develops care plans and implements these plans to optimize the life of the person with a dementia.

Dr. Mahakian is a long-standing member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. In 2003, co-founded the Alzheimer's Association of Armenia and serves as their USA representative. When not working with older adults, Jane devotes her time as President of a non-profit group to help orphan young women in Armenia.

Eileen Paniagua, Psy.D

Dr. Eileen Paniagua Dr. Paniagua is a licensed psychologist specializing in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology and Neuropsychology. She completed a Postdoctoral Residency in Neuropsychology at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Paniagua received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) and Master of Arts degrees in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology (APA accredited) in Orange, California. She completed her doctoral internship at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital (APA accredited) in Behavioral Medicine and Rehabilitation Psychology in Miami, Florida. In addition to being in private clinical practice, Dr. Paniagua is part of the academic staff at California Southern University, with an appointment as Institutional Review Board (IRB) member.

Dr. Paniagua's research interests focus on the mind-body relationship and its impact on health. She has conducted research in areas such as psychoneuroimmunology of breast cancer, biopsychology of chronic pain, chronic stress, and trauma. Dr. Paniagua specializes in neuropsychological evaluations, health psychology assessments and psychotherapy. Her approach is holistic integrating psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based approaches and biofeedback. She has received training in behavioral medicine, neuropsychology, psychoanalytic theory and psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapies, and couple's and family therapy. Dr. Paniagua is a member of The American Psychological Association (APA), The Psychoanalysis Division APA, Health Psychology Division APA, The Orange County Psychological Association (OCPA), and the Western Psychological Association (WPA).

Adrienne Pasek, Psy.D

Dr. MahakianDr. Pasek, a licensed Clinical Psychologist, earned her Psy. D. at the California School of Professional Psychology. Since receiving her degree, she has been in private practice working in a variety of inpatient, outpatient and residential settings. Dr. Pasek has extensive experience performing neuropsychological evaluations and cognitive assessments in private practice and for governmental agencies as well as using CBT and psychoanalysis as part of individual therapy. She is a professional affiliate of Clinical Neuropsychology with the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Pasek has provided trainings and given presentations to law enforcement agencies and companies nationwide. She is knowledgeable in a variety of subject areas including managing stress, suicide prevention, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) interventions. Dr. Pasek also has broad experience in conflict resolution as a former Executive Director for a non-profit Mediation Center working for the courts of Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. She is proficient and skilled in mediation and arbitration for parties seeking alternative solutions to legal disputes.
